About Jenna

Jenna Mann graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2019 with a Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing, following her 2015 degree in English from the University of Saskatchewan. During university, she served as Culture Editor for the UofS student publication, the Sheaf, and volunteered as an illustrator for UBC’s undergraduate journal of English, The Garden Statuary. Jenna’s academic focus on writing and psychology allowed her to create complex characters that explore the impact of depression on interpersonal relationships and personal agency.

Between 2015 and Spring 2025, Jenna worked as a copywriter in the agricultural sector. In the spring of 2023, she completed the edX and UBC course, How to Write a Novel: Edit & Revise, refining her skills on an earlier draft of her novel, Familiar Places. Since fall 2023, she has been a dedicated volunteer with the Vancouver Writers Exchange. In her spare time, Jenna actively participates in critique groups and writers’ events, continuously improving her craft and fostering connections within the writing community.
